St Paul Relief Quilts

The St. Paul Quilting Group is working toward the fall quilt ingathering in October 2023. The Quilting Group would like to ask the congregation to consider donating the cost of the shipment for one quilt at the cost of $2.25 during the month of September.

Should you be able to donate for this, these contributions may be placed in the offering envelopes or given directly to Treasurer Duane.  Any checks should be made payable to St. Paul Lutheran Church and designated for LWR.  These funds will be sent to Lutheran World Relief as part of our Fall Ingathering response. Your participation is always greatly appreciated and helps ship quilts to those in need around the world.  This cost has not increased in many years of shipping quilts.

Relief Quilts

For many people, giving something up for Lent is like a New Year’s Resolution – it only lasts a short period of time.   This year during Lent, add something instead.  Add the gift of shipping one quilt with Lutheran World Relief for $2.25.

Mark the gift amount on your offering envelope. Make any checks payable to St. Paul Lutheran Church and designate for LWR.  Your gift will be sent to Lutheran World Relief during the Fall Ingathering of Quilts.

Lutheran World Relief

Lutheran World Relief is working with their local partners in Turkey to distribute needed supplies such as ready-to-eat food and clothing. They will be airlifting in supplies like first-aid kits, heating stoves, thermal blankets, and tents.

Lutheran World Relief is using monetary gifts to purchase some of the items in Turkey and the surrounding area so there is fewer shipping costs involved. Go to their website at www.LWR.org if you want further information about giving to the earthquake disaster relief.

Used Coats To Donate

If you have any used coats to donate, please reach out to Beth, as she has learned of a facility which collects used coats for those in need.  Additionally, please remember that Grace Evangelical Church continually has need for used coats as well for the Ukrainian refugees they are supporting in the Columbus area or overseas in Ukraine.  If you’d like to drop any off at their Norton Rd location, please text them to make arrangements at (614) 648-9849.

Little Red Food Barn And Little Red Library

We have been stocking it with dried meals, mac and cheese, dried soups, pasta, cereal, dried milk, dried beans, bagged fruits and nuts, ramen noodles, dried noodle bowls, etc.  We are also using the meals being donated in foil packets (such as the beef stew which has been very popular).  We also found from our research that things such as peanut butter and jelly are safe to put out in the cold winter as long as they are in plastic jars.  We have also been including loaves of bread.  The canned goods in the inside storage will be used as soon as weather permits, so don’t stop donating.

The Little Library could use young adult and adult books.
